Vintage Atari 2600 Video Computer System

What are Vintage Video Games? Games like Pac-man and Asteroids are common as retro or vintage games on many modern video game systems. However, there was a time when these games were top arcade games. These were the games of the late 1970s and early 1980s. See Time line below.

1st Generation Video Games (1972-1977) were sold as a form of interactive television. All games came with their respective consoles. Examples include Magnavox Odyssey, Coleco Telstar and PONG consoles. Games included Football, Hockey and PONG.
2nd Generation Video Games (1976-1984) were more active and introducted color. Games were coded on a cartridge. The Atari 2600 being the most popular. Games included Alien Invaders, 3D Tic Tac Toe and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons.
3rd Generation Video Games (1983-1987) had more processing power and memory on the console. Popular consoles were Atari 7800, Sega and NES. 3D Asteroids, Ace of Aces and Action 52 that featured 52 different games in a single cartridge.
4th Generation Video Games (1987-1994) offered even more depth, speed and color with a 16 bit processors. New Companys intered the market such as Nintendo and Sega with games like Madden NFL, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.
5th Generation Video Games (1994-2002) stopped using cartridges for the most part. These game systems were limited in storage but stunning to pay.
